Over 50 is Not the Time To Slow Down


Recently I was confronted with the fact that I am getting older,  What the ^&%%$ !!

I was at a family event and someone said “so and so is getting old”   Now this would not normally alarm me I would just move on…… Except the person they were speaking about was a few years younger than me!!!

I just could not let the group of people go on thinking that age defines who we are.  I am the first to admit I use to think If someone was over 50 they had one foot in the grave and their life was over.

Why is it society  does this?  I admit it is not as bad as it use to be, since we humans are living longer.

Here are a few wonderful things I have found after reaching 50.

  1.  I am more  Comfortable in my own skin-  I am not as self conscience about fitting in.
  2.  I can let things go- I do not dwell on who said what to whom.
  3.  I now know If it is to be it it is up to me to make it happen.
  4.  Life is a journey not a Destination!

For anyone out there that is feeling like the glass in empty, unsatisfied, sad, or lonely  remember  YOU are in charge of your life. Get connected with 5 people you want to be like .  Please remember…… If you choose those just like you now your circumstances WILL not change.

If you are retired, find something to do, volunteer or perhaps become an entrepreneur (you choose the speed to work)  These are great ways to make friends and better yet mentor others.  It is our time to give back to others.

Why set a Resolution?


When the end of the Year gets near most of us start thinking about how we want to change  things to better ourselves in the New Year.

What if we did this all year long vs  a month , what do you think the outcome would be?

This year I am throwing tradition out the window…..  I am working on being the best I can be all year long!
I know you are sitting there thinking “sure you are”.

How am I going to  do this?

I have am working with  a group of people  that are tired  being distracted by Squirrels,   I know how that feels I HAVE BEEN IN THAT BOAT TOO!

How does this group work?   We all work at staying on task each day with some very simple tools.  Getting back to basics with a Day timer, a Day Plan and a very simple worksheet.   Once we master the task of staying focused we will introduce  simple things to help each person be a more productive  worker.   Focus  is huge, too many of us get sidetracked by shiny objects (did you just see that squirrel run by)

Do you “See yourself” in the future?

As we jump into the New Year we all  make those resolutions.  Why do we do this?  It is because we have been conditioned year after year to do so.  What resolutions have you actually followed through on?  Come on, be honest.

If we really want to make something happen we need to figure out Why we want it and figure out what it takes to make it happen.  The number 1 resolution made each year is something having to do with fitness.   Most resolve to hit the gym and get healthy and or to reduce weight.   By March 1st most have completely stopped working out and their new way of “reducing” has been long forgotten.

Many also resolve to work on increasing their financial situation, some look for a way to bring more money in.  Some plan to take that dream vacation.   Others resolve to continue their education, take on a hobby, or learn something new, perhaps a new language.

If we do not see ourselves as having done what we are setting out to do we more often than not  fail.  Now I know you are saying to yourself. “where is she going with this”.

In order for us to “see” ourselves reaching our destination no matter what it is  we must  really   SEE  ourselves  at the finish line.   One way to do this is to  write a letter to your future self  sharing the steps you took to get to where you are today (in he future).

Yes a letter, you know like the “snail mail”  actually take a piece of paper and write yourself a letter.

Dear _______________, 

I am so excited to be sharing this with you.   On June 9th I walked into our favorite store and tried on clothes for the first time in years.   OMG, the look on our face when we realised we had shrunk 4 sizes.  We finally bought that little red dress (black is not for us anymore).    Shopping in our closet has been amazing.    Remember coming across that flowered blouse, what were we thinking when we bought it?.

Can you believe we have paid off all of our credit card debt?  Let us vow never to let that happen again (rack up the debt that is)   July 1st  will always be known as the day we were set free.  

You get the picture,  write to yourself and tell yourself the steps you took.  Write how you felt, where were you when you first realized you were achieving what you set out to do.

If your goals are BiG and you have a 1 year, 3 year or more plan send yourself several letters to  get your through each step.    You may not always reach your planned destination, however taking the time to do this will help you set your mind to get you started.   Be sure to put the letter in an envelope and address it to yourself.  Take it out and read it every now and then.

I have been doing this for about three years, has everything happened like I planned?  Absolutely not, however many have, (just in a different way).

It’s time to show some mutual kindness and respect


During this Political season I have noticed many families and friendships have been tested like never before.   Never in my lifetime have I experienced such bashing, calling of names and actual fighting between people as this campaign.   Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all treat this subject like other differences we have?

Now I know many of you will be saying  “But I am Right in what I think”  and yes you may feel you are right.   However,  what if we thought about it like this…….


You like Pepsi and your friend likes coke, are you going to  disown them and or treat them differently? You go to Walmart and your sister shops only locally owned establishments, does this mean your right and she is wrong?   Do you stop talking to one and other? Do you call each other names?

This campaign has brought out the worst in many people, I am shocked at many I have respected and how they  shared their opinion (in the worst way possible).  Spewing venom at anyone who has a differing opinion.

We all have a right to our opinions my question is why do we feel it is our duty to  tell others theirs is wrong.   Let’s all  start sharing some mutual respect.

One can either jump in and treat others with respect or  we can perpetuate the hatred and disrespect .

Which side of the fence will you choose to be on?








We are Never Prepared


Over the past 17 years we have had our daily lives turned upside down on a much too regular basis.

On April 20, 1999 we were devastated at the death of 13 people at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado.  The first of many shootings that would devastate so many. Or I should say first one that hit us all at once.

In my area we have also experienced  tragedy.   In 2008 a mentally ill man went on a shooting spree and killed 6 people including a Sheriff Deputy.   This event was very devastating to so many, as living in a smaller community those killed were deeply engrained in the community.  I will never forget that day as I could not figure out why there was a steady stream of Police agency cars on the freeway with lights and sirens blaring.  Many families lives were forever changed.

On October 24th 2015 5 students were shot at Marysville High School, so very tragic and again devastated many lives.  Young lives were cut short, and many others were forever changed.  This brought the devastation to our small area once again.

Since then we have witnessed many events all across America, with heavy hearts we feel for those affected.   We say to ourselves, so thankful that type of thing does not happen in my  backyard.   

Last night it did happen, On a Friday night at 7:00 pm a shooter went in to a Local Mall and shot and killed 5 people.  At this time the community does not know the names of all  the victims.  We all  wait holding our breath praying for those families that have been devastated.   These are just a few of the very tragic events involving senseless shootings  happening  all too often.

When word goes out of such a tragedy we all start reaching out to our family and friends and make sure everyone is safe.  Our hearts break for those that did not hear from their loved ones, knowing their pain is unbearable, never to be the same again.

The question I leave you with…..  How do we prepare for  such events?


Life is all about a challenge


Recently I Challenged myself to be bold, make changes and embrace all life has to offer.

First change was to tackle my weight issue, now down 17 lbs since May 7th.

Next I took a long look at my financial future and my goals that I wanted to achieve.  I had to take a very hard look at many areas here.   My husband and I  had a financial check up to see where we stood in our Retirement dreams.

Next I had to take a long look at My current career.  I asked myself the following questions

  1.  Are you happy?
  2.  Do you honestly believe you have a future with this company?
  3.  Do you have any Doubts, if so, what are they?
  4.  Are you making money or losing it?tiara diana

I was very sad when I came to a conclusion in order to Thrive and help others do the same I had to cut and run from  my current company.

Once I was ready I left –  The next morning I knew my head and heart were in sync for the first time is many many months.

This got me to  Thinking … There must be others that are ready to make some changes too.

This was the beginning of the formation of The Tiara Lady Happy Healthy Life Challenge.   Are you up for the Challenge to  Change your life?  This will encompass all areas of our lives from Finances, to health to general well being.   Challenges are more fun when you are in a group.

Can Coffee really help you lose Weight?

I was a skeptic to say the least.   I saw a video on facebook and the woman was proclaiming she had lost 40 lbs in 4 months.   There was something about the way she said it that made me click on the link.  Now, this  could have been a mistake or my saving grace.

When I messaged her she sent me a link.  I watched a 24 minute video   and was very  intrigued. This video was a naturopathic Dr explaining what  all the ingredients in the 4 products were and how they helped  one naturally lose weight.

I was very delighted to  try this, sooner rather than later.  coffee


Fast forward seven days later, I had my product in hand.  I started the routine that day May 7th (I will not forget that day),

I drank the coffee  and felt  almost an instant  feeling come over me.  It was not the jitters or feeling dizzy.  It was a burst of clear thinking and abundant energy.   coffee-34251_1280

I followed the directions and made sure I drank lots of water- it was weird, but I wanted to drink water  which is very strange as I am not a huge water drinker

About 45 minutes before  Dinnertime I mixed a packet called trim into a bottle of water.  This had a pleasant taste, not too sweet.   I was shocked I ate smaller portions at dinner, and not my normal huge helpings.    an hour before bedtime I then took another packet called Immune mixed with water.

The first day was great  I did not binge, snack or overindulge. Instead I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I followed this routine for six days and  had a “rest day” on the seventh.

Fast forward six weeks later,  I have lost 14 lbs and about 5.5 inches overall.

The huge side benefits besides the weight are   I do not have the huge swings with my blood sugar as I did before. My lower back, hips and knees are no longer in pain.  My mood is on a even keel, happy.   I do not think about sugar, potato chips and all the junk food I did before.  In fact I eat when its time for meals and I am completely satisfied.

I guess when you pray for God to  help you with your weight issues one should be prepared when he puts it right in your lap.

You agreed to have a Party Now what?

party time frogs Many of us attend parties for our freinds and family that have a Party Plan Business.  We sometimes go   because we Love the Product or are going just to support the one having the party, or the Sales Rep.

We all know the subject of hosting a party is going to come up.  We arm ourselves with reasons WHY we cannot under no circumstances have one. Then before you know it you are saying  “why yes, I would love to have a party” Now What??

First thing is to schedule your date and time right there on the spot with the sales rep,  It is so much better than having them  call you, to get the date solidified.   If you are just thinking about it, please let them know  and they will make arrangements to touch base with you  one, two or three months down the line

Next embrace it, think of it as a great time to catch up with your gal pals or make it a couples event ( if the product allows it)  If the Rep has not had you pick a theme by all means make it a fun event.   If you and your pals love wine, then have a wine down Monday, Tuesday, Wed… you get the idea.  Have an ice cream social and have your guests bring their favorite topping.  This will of course all be fat and sugar free (just kidding, for the gusto). This is a fun party   on a summer night. There are so many themes and reasons to get together and just have fun.  When inviting your friends  sound enthused, make it about them and just getting together.   If you are excited, they will be too.   One thing to remember, not all of your friends will be able to make it.  My advice on this one is  Just Deal with it !!   Enjoy and celebrate those that can and do make it. Make it personal,  and remember a facebook event is not personal unless you send each person a private message/text that is just for them.

Now the this next bit of information is very important The Rep/advisor/Consultant  that has set aside the date and time in their  schedule is depending on you to follow up with your commitment.   We all know things come up, however if there has been no major emergency  make every effort to keep your commitment.    The Consultant not only is depending on you, they may have turned down others for that time because they scheduled with you. Many like you, lead busy lives and plan  not only their schedule but how they will make ends meet.   Don’t get me wrong, most that have a party plan business LOVE people and love to serve.  However, this is Their business and it’s how they pay their bills,  send their children to college and how they live.

Many of these people  do this do make ends meet as their other JOB may not pay them enough and this is the way they are getting ahead. I like to share this analogy,  If you were a hairdresser, waitress, Doctor  and you scheduled an appointment with someone and  they canceled  does that change  things in your day?  Does it change the bottom line?   It may not that day, however  if you had many do it because they thought you did your business as a “hobby”   it would begin to affect things greatly. Every Time someone cancels a party with someone in the Party Plan biz, it effects their bottom line. So what should you do?  think about it this way,   By hosting a party  you are

  1.  Having the chance to recconnect with family and/or friends
  2.  Getting the chance to perhaps learn something new
  3.  Helping support someone else, who may then help support others
  4.  Support Local economy instead of the big box stores
  5.  Introduce someone to a new Product and or Opportunity that just may change their Life

Wow, look at all those reasons to say YES  and follow through.    Changing Lives, one party at a time .

Which boat are you in?

Why am I sharing this?  for the sole purpose of sharing my story and maybe giving a little hope to others in the same boat.

Over the past year I have gained about 20 pounds, along with much self loathing.   I do not think there is a measuring device to measure all of the self loathing I have dumped on myself.   No matter how many times I say “love yourself”  that little voice says “all that extra weight is bad” .  Exercise has not been easy as I find it hard to breath.  My joints, knees and back always hurt.

The most difficult issue for me has  been my clothes not fitting.   You know what I am talking about right?  Shirts and tops  fit too tight as  the girls have suddenly become the size of watermelons (hello) .   The muffin top suddenly looks like a Bundt cake and my feet look a little swollen.  Am I the only one in this boat? Overweight Blues

These are just a few of the reasons I have been working on finding just the right program or product to help me  down the road to liking myself again, stop emotional eating and living a more healthy lifestyle.

Week one has been successful as I have lost 3lbs  along with 2.5 inches overall. I have not stopped to take my afternoon  nap (30 minutes of sleep) at  Three pm, and I am sleeping like a baby.  The most exciting factor is I have not binged, snacked or given in to cravings (as I honestly have not had any).  I am over the moon excited about this, as I had found myself to eat food then feel sick  just to find myself eating more.

Thankful I took the steps, found something to get me started and happy for the ability to share.  My goal is to help others Stop the self loathing and get in the Happy boat called  “Enjoyable Life”.
